Musical Statues

The aim of the game is be the best person at standing still.

Everyone dances to the music.  When the music stops everyone stands still like a statue.  If someone moves, they are out of the game.  Start the music again and repeat until you have one person left.  They are the winner.

Musical Bumps

The aim of the game is to be the fastest person to sit on the floor.

Everyone dances to the music.  When the music stops everyone sits on the floor.  The last person to sit on the floor is out of the game.  Start the music again and repeat until you have one person left.  They are the winner.

Mummies

The aim of the game is to be the first team to wrap a person up to look like a Mummy using toilet roll.

Split into teams of 3 or more people and pick one person to be the Mummy.  The Mummy stands in the centre with their arms by their side and the remaining people form a circle around them.  Each team is given a toilet roll.  When the music plays, you start from the bottom and wrap the toilet paper around the 'Mummy' like a bandage by passing the toilet roll around each person in the circle.  The first team to cover their 'Mummy' in toilet paper from head to toe is the winner.

Pancake Game

The aim of the game is to be the first person to eat their pancake.

Each person is given a pancake on a plate with a large blob of squirty cream.  When the music starts, everyone trys to eat their pancake without using their hands.  The first person to eat their pancake is the winner.  This game can also be played using chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce or anything messy.

Hula Hoop Game

The aim of the game is to move a hula hoop around a circle of people holding hands without breaking the chain.

Split into teams and each team is given a hula hoop.  Everyone should hold hands and form a circle, with the hula hoop hanging from a persons arm.  When the music starts, the person on the right of the hula hoop, steps into the hoop and wriggles it over their head, while still holding hands with the people at each side.

The hoop will fall down the persons right arm and slide onto the next persons left arm.  The next person should then step into the hoop, wriggle it over their head, again still holding hands.  Repeat this until the hula hoop is back where it started.  The first team to finish is the winner.

Pass the Parcel (version 1)

The aim of the game is to unwrap the parcel and find out what is inside.

The host of the party should wrap up a parcel, for example, a box of sweets, skipping ropes or a colouring book, with a number of layers of paper (tip:use different colours of paper for each layer so the children do not rip two layers off at a time).  The more layers you have, the longer the game will be.

The children sit in a circle and the parcel is given to a child.  When the music starts, the parcel is passed around the circle from person to person.  When the music stops, the person holding the parcel removes a layer of paper.  The music starts and the parcel gets passed again, until the music stops.  This continues until all the layers of paper are removed.  The person who removes the last layer wins what was in the parcel.  This game can also be played with more than one parcel.
